The DomainSkate team is excited to be chosen by The Next Web to participate in their #Boost program showcasing emerging companies. The Next Web USA conference will be held this Wednesday, December 10th, in New York. For DomainSkate, being a part of #Boost is an exciting way to demonstrate our solutions for dealing with the thorny problem of online brand and domain fraud that plagues millions of companies.
DomainSkate educates users about how to stay vigilant as the new domain space expands into hundreds of new domain registries – most of which will be open to the public. We monitor your domains and brands, alert you, and tell you what to do when there’s a domain infringement.
What’s the scope of this Internet expansion? Between Sept. 1st and today there have been over 1.4 million new domain registrations, just in the New gTLD (i.e., new domain) space. This is a huge increase in the normal rate of domain registrations. We predict this trend that will continue as even more new domain registries come online. For businesses, particularly SMBs, that do business online or rely on a website to connect with customers, knowing who or what may be registering domains with your brand name is mission critical.
If someone is diverting traffic, taking customers, confusing customers, spreading malware, engaging in phishing scams, spyware or malware, then your business is going to lose money, customers, or have it’s good name tarnished. We’ll be posting on all our social channels from #TNWUSA, and hope that if you’re there, you’ll stop by and talk with us.
